Will it integrate with our EHR?
Native integrations with the five most-used EHRs in MENA. For everyone else, we support HL7/FHIR and CSV.
Is the e-prescription legally valid?
Yes — Balsam is registered with the ministry of health in Sudan, Egypt, KSA, and UAE. Prescriptions are signed cryptographically and fully auditable.
Can patients refuse to share their adherence data?
Always. Patients can opt out of adherence sharing at any time. By default it's shared only with the prescribing physician.
How accurate is the stock data?
Updated every time a pharmacy sells or receives stock. Latency is usually under 60 seconds for pharmacies on Balsam, longer for those still on legacy systems.
What about controlled substances?
Full support for regulated prescriptions including duplicate sign-off, dispensing limits, and regulator reporting.
How long does setup take?
Solo physicians: a working day. Multi-physician clinics: about a week including EHR integration. We handle the regulator paperwork.
